This is where most people start searching the internet, listening to strangers who speak about hardship — but not the kind that matches their own.
Our struggles vary. Yours might be porn, alcohol, substance abuse, or something else entirely. And when you go online, you’ll find people promising recovery with a product, course, or “instant system.”
Let me be clear: There is no one-fix tool for a bad habit.I’ve made the mistake of listening to people who never went through what I did. I’ve tried solutions that worked for others, but failed me.
My biggest mistake? Not centering God in my recovery. Because only He has the power to pull you out completely. Be Careful Whose Advice You FollowIn our society, most solutions to bad habits are not built on God. So be careful who you take advice from. There are many ways to break habits — but all effective ones share three key things in common:
The Central Role of GodAnd now, the unlisted fourth, which is actually the first, middle, and last of all three: God.God is in all of it. Your friend should be someone of faith. Your journal should include your prayers, praises, and moments with God. And your celebration should glorify Him.
These are the things that helped me — and they’ve helped others too. "Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you."
Put God first — and everything else will follow.
